Spring Writing Camp with KR Moorhead

As spring returns to the northern hemisphere, so does the sun, the warmth, and perhaps our energy and capacity for creative practice. If you'd like to jumpstart your writing, get words on the page, and build creative community, you may want to join us for Spring Writing Camp.

Maximum capacity is 12 attendees.

All tickets and non-refundable.

Session Structure:

The first three weeks will be devoted to establishing a deep writing practice which includes the ways we bring ourselves into and out of the space.

  • Each session opens with 10-15 mins of guided reflection on your practice, your intentions, and your mental state entering the session.

  • This will be followed by 15 mins where attendees can check-in, share any reflections, and bring up any issues (craft or process based) that they are currently dealing with.

  • There will be 10 mins of guided warm-up writing to bring our focus to the page and help us establish what we might want to explore further in the session.

  • We will move into 25 minutes of deep writing time, with multiple, optional prompts that can be applied to works in progress or used to stimulate new ideas and materials.

  • A short comfort break

  • 35 more minutes of deep writing time with new prompt options.

  • Finally, a five minute transition activity, then 10 minutes to check out as a group.

The fourth session will be a meeting of the Writing Support Club which meets monthly and includes members of the wider NQC community. In these sessions, we chat about our practice, share work informally for feedback, and set intentions for the following month. This first meeting is included in your ticket; if you'd like to continue attending this monthly club, the cost is £6 a month (or less if you sign up for multiple clubs at once).

Who is this for?

Anyone looking for support, structure, guidance, accountabily and motivation to get words on the page. You may be at the start of a new project, feeling stuck in the middle, or needing a push to the end. You might just want to flex your writing muscles and get them back in shape after a quiet winter, or see what new ideas and projects might emerge from your writing. Open to those working in all forms of writing: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, script, hybrid forms, journalling etc.
