About the event
Making Tiny Art: ATCs, ACEOs & Mini Zines with KR Moorhead & Leif
Friday, Jun 12th, 5:30-7:30pm UK via Zoom.
Suggested price is £7.50 but free and PWYC access is available.
There are many benefits to making tiny art:
The size constraint forces you to make decisions and think creatively
Experiment with a variety of mediums
Get the satisfaction of completing something in not much time
Use limited supplies or even use up the ends/scraps of old materials (recycling!)
Use them to practice specific skills or do studies for larger pieces
Trade them with other artists!
Maybe even sell them
Join resident zine-maker, Leif, and accidental collage artist, KR, for a two hour session of making tiny art. We will introduce you to ATCs (or Artist Trading Cards), which are sometimes known as ACEOs (Art Card Editions and Originals), as well as Mini Zines, including a variety of examples from the facilitators and other artists, and some generative exercises to get you exploring each. The majority of the session time will be devoted to making together, then we will have some time to share what we made.
This is a financially accessible session - meaning free and PWYC access is available to anyone who wants it. We are suggesting a price of £7.50 for those that are able to pay. All ticket income goes to pay the facilitators for their time, so whatever you are able to pay is most appreciated. To access this session for free, choose the PWYC ticket and enter £0.
Please note that all tickets are non-refundable.
About the Facilitators:

KR Moorhead (they/them) is an occasional writer and accidental collage artist, as well as a late discovered/diagnosed AuDHD and Gender Non-Conforming educator & facilitator. After gaining an MA in Creative Writing from The University of East Anglia , they published their autofictional novella, The First Law of Motion, in the US and started teaching Creative Writing at UEA. While teaching there, they also earned a PG-Cert in Higher Education and Practice and a PG-Dip in Education Practice and Research. After nearly 15 years, they decided to leave traditional academia in order to create independent, inclusive, neuroqueer, creative learning spaces, and so NQC was born. They are currently working on a cosy fantasy novel about magic and generational trauma, as well as a memoir about their mother. They have recently rediscovered a passion for visual art through collage, and share their daily collages on IG @accidental.collage. KR lives in Norwich, UK with their partner, their step-kid and their four cats.

Leif (they/them) is the queer Chicago-based AuDHD artist and zine maker behind It’s Weird Now Press (@its.weird.now.press). Their creative practice is rooted in survival, self-compassion, and finding humor in the mess of being human. Through zines and mixed media work, Leif explores the beauty and chaos of the in-between. They view art-making as an act of resistance, healing, and re-imagination. Leif believes everyone is inherently creative and through the simple act of making - holds the power to transform not only themselves but also the world.
