About the event
Make Your Own Mini Tarot w/ Leif & Erika
Saturday, Feb 21st from 6-8pm UK via Zoom
Plus, an optional body doubling session on Feb 28th at the same time.
This offering is for people who are interested in the idea of creating their own personal tarot deck, people who are looking for a way to deepen their relationship with the cards, and people who are are starting out with tarot and want to learn more about the cards. In this session, we will focus more on the process of creation and intuition - if you are a professional artist looking to create a deck to sell this course is probably not for you. Instead, we will explore the process of creating your own deck from your own perspective. While we will focus on the Rider-Waite deck as our basis, you are welcome to work in whatever way works for you. The first session (Feb 21st) will be all about generating and drafting ideas on a small scale. Almost like thumbnails for a story, participants will come away with the beginning of their own deck which they can then continue to develop during our second session (Feb 28th) which will be devoted to body-doubling/co-working. Participants will come away with some drafts of a few major arcana cards and concepts for exploring the minor arcana.
Participants will need creative materials of their own choosing which can be pens, pencils, crayons, collage, stickers, ipad, or whatever works best for you. A mini tarot deck template will be provided, which will be sent before the session to be printed by the participants.
This course is available at one flat affordable price of £12.
If you're interested in exploring the tarot as a creative tool even further, join Erika and co-facilitator Marina King, for the four week course: Tarot for Creatives: Weaving Intuition with Creative Practice which begins March 7th. All ticket holders for Tarot for Creatives will receive a 15% discount code for Make Your Own Mini Tarot.
About Leif:

Leif (they/them) is the queer Chicago-based AuDHD artist and zine maker behind It’s Weird Now Press. Their creative practice is rooted in survival, self-compassion, and finding humor in the mess of being human. Through zines and mixed media work, Leif explores the beauty and chaos of the in-between. They view art-making as an act of resistance, healing, and re-imagination. Leif believes everyone is inherently creative and through the simple act of making - holds the power to transform not only themselves but also the world. As an NQC facilitator, they also co-facilitate both the Bad Art and Bad Zine Clubs, and offer one off introduction to zine-making sessions.
About Erika:

Erika Phoenix (she/they) is a non-binary, neurodivergent artist, writer, performer & activist based in Wales, who has worked for many years as a theatre arts educator. They believe everyone should have access to the arts as a means of self-exploration, and through their advising, facilitating, and project planning, they support creatives in making the things that they want to make.
